A strategic brain
I’m always looking for the idea underneath the request. The goal is not just to make the thing. It’s to understand what the thing needs to accomplish.
Based in Missoula, Montana. Solving problems globally.
I’m a creative partner and graphic designer who likes making complicated things feel a whole lot clearer.
For more than a decade, I’ve worked across brand, marketing, digital, print, and everything in between. I help teams untangle what they’re trying to say, figure out what actually matters, and turn it into thoughtful, useful creative work.
I’m a big-picture thinker who also cares deeply about the details. I like a messy problem, a good system, a weird reference, and the moment when everything finally clicks into place.

I’m based in Missoula, Montana, where work and life tend to overlap in the best ways. I’m curious by nature, almost always making something, and very capable of turning a passing interest into a full-blown research project.
Outside of client work, this site is also home to the other things I care about making: pottery, playlists, doodles, portraits, fictional cafés, and whatever else has my attention at the moment.
I think all of that makes me better at my actual job.
The more things I learn, notice, make, and care about, the more references I have to pull from when I’m solving a problem.

The work I like most starts before anybody opens a design file.
What are we actually trying to communicate? Who needs to understand it? What is getting lost? What feels inconsistent? What is making this harder than it needs to be?
Sometimes the answer is a brand system. Sometimes it’s a website, a presentation, a campaign, a printed piece, or a pile of marketing materials that finally need to feel like they came from the same company.
My job is to help make sense of it, then make it good.
I’m always looking for the idea underneath the request. The goal is not just to make the thing. It’s to understand what the thing needs to accomplish.
Hierarchy, typography, systems, consistency, composition, usability, all the details that make information easier to understand and nicer to spend time with.
I like working with people, talking things through, sharing unfinished ideas, and getting to the answer together.
Ideas are great. Finished, useful things are better.
I post pretty regularly about design, creative work, careers, collaboration, things I’m learning, things I’m noticing, and the occasional thought that became significantly longer than intended.
If you want a better sense of how I think when I’m not trying to fit it into website copy, LinkedIn is probably the place.
